How It Works
The Road to the Accord is not a single event or a series of meetings. It is an ongoing process of education, preparation, and engagement designed to bring people from across the community into meaningful conversations about the future of artificial intelligence.

Step 01
Convene Wichita
Bring together people from across Wichita to introduce the Accord, identify community needs, and begin an ongoing process of education and engagement.

Step 02
Prepare the Community & Delegation
Launch ongoing educational opportunities tailored to different communities, professions, and circumstances. In parallel, assemble and prepare a smaller delegation for initial outreach to frontier AI leaders.

Step 03
Visit Silicon Valley
A small delegation will travel to Silicon Valley as an initial gesture of goodwill and cooperation.
The purpose is to demonstrate our willingness to engage constructively with the people developing frontier artificial intelligence, learn directly from them, and begin establishing relationships built on mutual respect and understanding.
We are not arriving with demands or predetermined conclusions. We are extending a hand and demonstrating that Wichita is willing to do its part to build a productive relationship.
This initial outreach will help lay the groundwork for inviting AI leaders to Wichita.

Step 04
Bring the Frontier to Wichita
Invite frontier AI leaders to Wichita to meet directly with people from across the community who have spent months preparing to participate meaningfully in these conversations.
This is an opportunity for developers to better understand the people whose lives their work may transform, while community members gain direct access to the individuals shaping the technology.

Step 05
Find Accord
Identify areas of mutual understanding, mutual benefit, and shared responsibility that can form the foundation for ongoing cooperation between frontier AI developers and the communities whose futures their work will shape.
Community education, preparation, and engagement continue throughout the Road to the Accord. The delegation’s visit is an initial outreach, not the culmination of the community’s participation.
